Assistant Principal’s Message

Welcome to the Highland Elementary School website.  Highland School strives to inspire our Learners to LEAD: Lead, Excel, Achieve, and Dream.  Highland School has a dedicated team of teachers working to fulfill this mission every day.

Highland School is committed to academic excellence.  Together with our families and the community, the staff and students of Highland School work toward clearly focused educational, personal, and social goals.  With parents and teachers working together as a team, every child will succeed.  It is my top priority to provide students with a safe and effective learning environment, full of rich experiences.  I am eager to get to know all of our wonderful students and families this year.

I have over 15 years of experience in the field of education working as a classroom teacher, counselor, and administrative intern.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana.  I also earned a Master’s Degree in Education with a focus in Guidance Counseling from Murray State University and received my administrative licensure through Oakland City University.

I live in Mount Vernon with my three children, Madison, Jackson, and Mason.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, spending time with my family, and serving as a volunteer leader for Posey County Wyldlife.
